Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today made the following statement after the U.S. Senate confirmed Penny Pritzker for the role of Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce.  Klobuchar is a member of the Senate Commerce Committee and the President’s Export Council, and is the Vice Chair of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC).

“As a member of the Commerce Committee I had the opportunity to hear Penny Pritzker’s plan to prioritize economic issues that benefit Minnesota and our nation, like boosting exports and increasing international tourism. I was impressed by her experience and dedication, and I look forward to working with her to advance policies that help American businesses innovate and reach new markets as she begins her service as Commerce Secretary.”
