Todd Jones' confirmation marks the first time in seven years that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has had a confirmed director
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today made the following statement after B. Todd Jones was confirmed by the Senate to be Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
“Today’s vote is a victory for the agency and our law enforcement system and will finally give the ATF the permanent director it needs. Todd Jones has done two crucial jobs for two years, serving as both Acting Director of the ATF and U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, and now will be able to devote all of his time to this important position. I am confident he will serve our country well.
“Allowing the nomination to proceed without a filibuster was also another good sign that the Senate is operating in the spirit of bipartisanship to move the country forward.”
