Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) has been named chairman of the U.S. Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee. The U.S. Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee brings together senators, businesses, community leaders, policy experts and intergovernmental organizations to help develop policies to strengthen the economy and support families, workers and businesses.

“If we’re going to continue moving our economy and country forward, we need to enlist the creativity and expertise of leaders from all across the country,” said Klobuchar, who is known for successfully working across the aisle on legislation. “I’m looking forward to bringing together lawmakers, businesses, and community leaders to shape policies that will help drive economic growth and strengthen our country.”

The Committee is one of the Democratic leadership committees in the Senate. Previous chairs include Senators Mark Begich, Debbie Stabenow and Hillary Clinton.
