U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar was in Rochester Friday.
She met with Mayo Clinic leaders discussing innovations and research.
Senator Klobuchar got a tour of the Mayo Clinic Biobank, a facility that studies blood and blood derivatives for research.
The Biobank doesn't study any disease in particular, but it collects samples and health information from patients, regardless of health history.
Klobuchar's tour included visiting the cryo room--which contains liquid nitrogen and various labs, then ended with a meeting with Mayo Clinic leaders.
Klobuchar said she is proud of the innovations and breakthroughs being made at the Mayo Clinic.
