U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is on a two-day, eight-city trip around the state explaining her efforts to improve rural broadband and work force development.

She's made this a top issue in Congress, heading a bipartisan group of 61 senators that urged the FCC to help ensure Americans in rural areas have access to affordable broadband services. She said she's also looking for ways to identify any regulatory barriers to broadband deployment and explore opportunities to improve adoption, access, and competition.

Today, her stops were Willmar, Hancock, Beardsley and Madison.

Four more stops Wednesday are:

8 a.m., Chandler Industries, Montevideo

10 a.m., MN West Technical College, Canby

12:30 p.m., SW MN Regional Airport, Marshall

2:45 p.m., Redwood County Government Center, Redwood Falls
