Washington, DC (NNCNOW.com) -- U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken are urging the Department of Commerce to crack down further on illegal steel dumping.

The federal lawmakers are concerned the department is not applying certain provisions of the law, specifically those addressing uncooperative respondents.

In a letter, the senators reminded the commerce department to properly apply adverse facts available, which would prevent trade cheats from getting away with violating international trade law.

It also ensures American Manufacturers are competing on a level playing field.
