Klobuchar offers bipartisan solutions to bring down the cost of prescription drugs, lower premiums and increase coverage for American families

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar issued the following statement following tonight’s live CNN town hall on the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill:

Tonight I spoke about the future of healthcare in our country. The Graham-Cassidy repeal bill would take us backwards and the best way to move forward is to work together on a bipartisan solution.

“As I said during the town hall, this is about people. It's about the Minnesota retiree with diabetes saving her used insulin injectors because the drug has gotten so expensive. It's about the farmer with a heart condition and the teacher with breast cancer. That's why we can't afford to let them ram though a bill that's going to make things worse by cutting millions off of healthcare, jacking up premiums, and doing nothing about skyrocketing drug costs. Tomorrow we should restart the promising bipartisan work to fix the Affordable Care Act. That's how we put politics aside and people first.”
