Second Minnesota nominee expected to be confirmed by the end of next week

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today announced that Judge Nancy Brasel has been confirmed by the Senate to serve on the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Eric Tostrud is also expected to be confirmed by the Senate by the end of next week.

“Judge Brasel is a dedicated public servant whose extensive legal experience makes her extremely well-qualified for the job. I worked to move her nomination forward as quickly as possible and she was confirmed with strong bipartisan support,” Klobuchar said. “Our second Minnesota nominee for District Court Judge—Eric Tostrud—is expected to be confirmed by the end of next week.”

Brasel has served as District Court Judge for Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District since 2011. Before joining the bench, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Minnesota. Earlier in her career, Judge Brasel spent more than a decade in private practice at the law firms Stinson Leonard Street and Greene Espel.
