WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Justice in Policing Act. The bill now heads to the Senate.

“Today’s vote in the House to pass the Justice in Policing Act is an important step forward for progress. This is a moment for urgent action, but it is also a moment for fundamental change. As George Floyd’s murder and countless other national tragedies have made clear, we must take action to fix a system that has been long been broken. We cannot respond with half measures or equivocations, and I commend the House for moving forward on this vitally important legislation. Leader McConnell should bring the bill to the floor of the Senate.”
