Moorhead Mayor Jonathan Judd joined Senator Amy Klobuchar and others at Bluestem Amphitheater to show his support for legislation to help the entertainment industry survive the COVID-19 pandemic.   Judd says Bluestem, which has been empty this spring and summer, is an important part of the Fargo-Moorhead economy:

“Over 34,000 folks here coming from 43 states, six Canadian Provinces. That’s going to have an economic impact on your city and this region.”

Judd says multiple business sectors benefit:

“We’re talking about people who stay in hotels, frequent our restaurants. It’s also a residual effect of people just using their money to purchase goods and items here.”

The “Saving our Stages Act” would provide small business grants to independent organizations that own or promote concerts and other events around the country.
