WASHINGTON, D.C. (MNN) - Washington lawmakers weigh in on a bi-partisan energy proposal this week. U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar is co-author of the Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Act which would use grant funding to help schools, hospitals and faith-based organizations upgrade their buildings and save money. Klobuchar says "they want to renovate just like businesses do, they want to put in energy efficient windows and lighting, but they have been just putting money into their mission" and "never do the energy efficiency." The bill was co-authored by Republican Senator John Hoeven from North Dakota.
