DULUTH, MN (North land's News center)---U.S Senator Amy Klobuchar toured parts of the North land today as part of an "Innovation Tour."

The tour aims to highlight the potential of economic innovation for long–term prosperity and job creation.

Senator Klobuchar stopped by the University of Minnesota Duluth today and toured science lab facilities and met with students.

"This is about jobs, it starts with making sure that students are trained with skills so they can actually get jobs," said Amy Klobuchar.

She also met with State Senator Tom Bakk, and toured the Sappi Paper Mill in Cloquet.

Tonight she's the keynote speaker at the Annual Membership Banquet of the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce, which represents Eveleth, Gilbert, Mountain Iron, Virginia, and other surrounding business communities.

Since Klobuchar began her Innovation Tour last week, she has visited 16 communities throughout Minnesota.
