A group of 14 Midwest Senators led by Minnesota’s Amy Klobuchar met recently with the White House Chief of Staff to push for an aggressive ethanol mandate under the RFS. American Coalition for Ethanol Executive Vice President Brian Jennings agrees with Senator Klobuchar that the future of biofuels industries depends upon an RFS rule that provides predictability and stability. Jennings is encouraged that the Administration seems to be listening to RFS supporters more and this recent meeting is an indication of that. He says the November 30 deadline for the EPA finalizing the RFS volumes is not that far away. Jennings says there will be additional meetings with the White House, the EPA and the Office of Management and Budget prior to the rule being finalized
