ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Minnesota leaders shared Memorial Day messages to the public online Monday.
DFL U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar shared a written statement stating in part, “Memorial Day is a time when we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our nation. We must ensure that the price they paid to defend our security and preserve our freedom is never taken for granted.”
She went on to advocate for quality healthcare for veterans and servicemembers, as well as access to their disability claims and G.I. benefits.
Republican U.S. Congressman Brad Finstad, representing Minnesota’s First Congressional District, posted a video greeting on the social media platform, X, saying in part, “It’s because of the selfless service of the fallen men and women in our Armed Forces that we enjoy the freedoms we have today. And for that, we are forever grateful.”
DFL U.S. Senator Tina Smith posted on X, writing “Thinking of the countless American lives lost and the thousands of brave men and women who answered the call of our nation with great courage and honor. Memorial Day and all days we thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms and keep us safe.”
