U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith are urging the CDC and FDA to speed up the investigation into the rise of lung illnesses and deaths linked to e-cigarettes and vaping.

The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed one death in August from a lung injury associated with vaping. There are about 450 cases of severe lung illnesses in 33 states. Minnesota's senators are also calling on the FDA to "meaningfully regulate" e-cigarettes to protect public health.
