U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar has been chosen to help escort Pope Francis into the chamber when he addresses Congress on Thursday.

Pope Francis will greet the escort committee members individually when he arrives in Congress, and they will then escort him as he addresses a joint session of Congress.

Klobuchar invited Tim Marx, the president of Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, to be her guest at the address, saying his organization helps neighbors in need by advocating for justice and addressing poverty and homelessness.

Pope Francis will deliver his address at 9 a.m. Thursday.
