Senator Amy Klobuchar and her family spent part of their holiday packing meals at Kids Against Hunger.

The goal of this crowd of about 15 is to pack thousands of meals. Each bag contains a day's worth of nutrition for six children.

Sen. Klobuchar says volunteering like this puts the headaches of the current politics in Washington, D.C. into perspective.

Sen. Klobuchar says, "You know what the good thing is about this, you can actually get things done. You can make a meal to save a kid in one day. So hopefully when we come back after Thanksgiving, everyone will have learned the same lesson."

Many of the meals will go to help those suffering in countries in the Horn of Africa.
