Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- After touring Duluth's newest airplane maintenance facility, United States Senator Amy Klobuchar is confident Duluth is laying the ground work for an economic upswing.

AAR is now working on their 3rd plane after operation began in December of 2012.

The company has brought over 100 jobs to Duluth, and is expected to bring 75 more in the near future.

Senator Klobuchar says that Duluth's recognition of its role in the global economy will help bring more high paying jobs down the road.

"That is the way Duluth has looked at this," said Sen. Klobuchar. "It hasn't seen itself just as one town in Minnesota. It's seeing itself as the global economy."

The Senator also said that closing tax loopholes will help Northland businesses that export products grow and expand.
