The U.S. Senate has cleared the way for a bill that enhances health care and disability benefits for millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The bill now goes to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
Wednesday, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar said the Senate’s passage of the bill finally puts a shameful chapter of American history to rest.
"When we ask our service members to sacrifice for us in order to defend our nation, we make a promise that we’re going to support them when they come home," said Klobuchar.
