Senator Amy Klobuchar calls U-S House passage of the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act an important step forward for progress.  The Minnesota Democrat said, "as George Floyd's murder and countless other national tragedies have made clear, we must take action to fix a system that has long been broken."  Klobuchar says we cannot respond with "half measures or equivocations."  The House bill bans chokeholds, no-knock warrants, creates a national database of police misconduct, and makes it easier to sue officers.  Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says it will not pass the Republican-controlled Senate, and President Trump has threatened to veto the bill.
