U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar is backing a bipartisan bill that aims to help workers get the skills they need to compete amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“As the economy comes back, we know that some jobs will change, some jobs are going to come back as they are, and some jobs will change, so what this skills renewal act does is it says ok, here’s a tax credit that can be used simply to pay for job training.”
The bill would create a flexible skills training credit worth $4,000 per person and could be used to cover the cost of training programs for jobs expected to be in high demand by employers in the coming months. The credit would be made available to any worker who has lost their job as a result of COVID-19 in 2020.
