U.S Senator Amy Klobuchar was in Hutchinson Saturday hosting an open house to meet with Veterans.

She met with local veterans and officials that included McLeod County Veterans Service Officer Jim Lauer to highlight new benefits and care available to veterans through the PACT Act.

The PACT Act delivers relief to all generations of veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances. The legislation also includes Senator Klobuchar’s Toxic Exposure Training Act, which requires additional training to VA health care employees on identifying and treating veterans exposed to toxic substances.

The Senator was joined by County Veterans Service Officers, local veterans, and community members to talk more about how veterans can get connected to the new benefits.
