WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) released the following statement after the House of Representatives introduced new legislation in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which includes provisions she introduced in the Natural Disaster and Emergency Ballot Act

“In this time of crisis, the American people cannot be forced to choose between their health and exercising their right to vote. I appreciate that the latest House relief package included many provisions from my legislation, the Natural Disaster and Emergency Ballot Act, to ensure all Americans have the option to vote by mail or vote early, as well as significant funding to ensure all Americans can safely cast their ballots. I commend Speaker Pelosi and House members for their work in helping the American people and taking steps to ensure Americans can safely exercise their right to vote.”
