WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today announced that First Judicial District Judge Erica MacDonald was confirmed by the Senate to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. Klobuchar urged her colleagues to support MacDonald based on her extensive legal experience.

“Judge MacDonald is a dedicated public servant who will serve Minnesota well as the new U.S. Attorney. I want to thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle who supported her nomination,” Klobuchar said. “I’m glad this important post has been filled and look forward to working with her.”

Judge MacDonald was appointed as District Judge by Governor Tim Pawlenty on January 15, 2010, and was re-elected in November of 2012. Previously, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota.
