WASHINGTON - Amid mail delivery issues in Birchdale, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) spoke with United States Postal Service (USPS) Minnesota-North Dakota District Manager Anthony Williams to raise concerns and discuss solutions. Current delivery problems in Birchdale developed after the USPS began requiring residents to use the town of Baudette’s name in their mailing address instead of their own.
Following Klobuchar’s conversation with USPS Minnesota-North Dakota District Manager Williams, residents are now able to use either Birchdale or Baudette in their mailing address.
“Many Birchdale residents have been experiencing problems receiving letters, packages, and government documents after the Postal Service began requiring them to use the town name of Baudette in Lake of the Woods County for their mailing address,” said Klobuchar. “I spoke with USPS District Manager Anthony Williams about this issue, and Birchdale residents are now able to list their home, Birchdale, in their mailing address moving forward. Minnesotans rely on the USPS every day, and I’ll keep working to ensure reliable delivery.”
