WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today released the following statement after the Senate passed bipartisan omnibus legislation to fund the government through the end of Fiscal Year 2014.

“Minnesotans expect Democrats and Republicans to work together to reduce our deficit in a balanced way and lay the foundation for economic growth, and today’s vote marks an important step forward in that effort. This agreement will prevent another crippling government shutdown, reverse some of the harmful sequester cuts, and make targeted investments that will strengthen our transportation infrastructure, put new cops on the beat, help businesses export and find new markets abroad, and boost critical programs like Head Start and heating assistance. I hope we can build on this bipartisan momentum and continue to find commonsense solutions to move our country forward.”
