Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today made the following statement on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

“Fifty years ago, men, women and children from all across the country came to march on Washington to make their voices heard and fight for the values inherent in our nation’s promise—freedom, justice and equality for all. Today, as we reflect on the incredible courage and sacrifice of Martin Luther King, Jr. and all of the civil rights leaders who never gave up their struggle to create a better country for future generations, we must recommit ourselves to these values and rededicate our efforts to the shared pursuit of a more perfect union.”
