WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) released the statement below after Governor Tim Walz named Ida Rukavina, a longtime Klobuchar aide, as the next Commissioner of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation.
“Ida Rukavina worked for me for years as my northern Minnesota outreach director. She is incredibly smart and an intrepid and innovative leader. In her new job as Commissioner of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation, she will have the backs of Iron Rangers!”
Rukavina, a native of Virginia, Minnesota, served as Klobuchar’s Senior Regional Outreach Director from 2015-2021. Prior to being named Commissioner of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation , she worked as Executive Director of the Range Association of Municipalities and Schools (RAMS).
