Senate Judiciary Committee Chair and Ranking Member Grassley and Leahy to also participate in hearing, as will other members of the Senate Judiciary Committee
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Mike Lee (R-UT), the ranking member and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights, announced they will hold a hearing on December 7th to examine the proposed AT&T and Time Warner merger. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair and Ranking Member Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Patrick Leahy (D-VT) will also participate in the hearing, as will other members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The hearing will be held on December 7, at 10 am ET in the Judiciary Committee hearing room, Dirksen 226.
Both Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T, and Jeffrey Bewkes, the CEO of Time Warner, are expected to testify.
The hearing will examine the impact of the proposed transaction on consumers, including the implications for competition and innovation in the creation and distribution of video content.
