MINNEAPOLIS, MN— Today U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar met with Karlstad Mayor Nick Amb and area firefighters and surveyed the damage the community suffered due to the wildfire in northwest Minnesota. Klobuchar thanked the volunteers and met with residents.  Klobuchar has been in northwest Minnesota for two days on her Made in America tour, meeting with local businesses and community leaders in Crookston, Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls, Oslo, Hallock and Greenbush.  Representative Collin Peterson accompanied Klobuchar for many of the stops.

“Today I saw firsthand the damage caused by the Karlstad fire, and the incredible effort by firefighters and volunteers from across the region and the state. Without their immediate help, the town would have been lost," said Klobuchar.
