WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), released the following statement after the United States, Great Britain and France launched military strikes in Syria.

“This was an inhumane attack against innocent people. The world can’t stand by and allow chemical weapons to repeatedly be used against innocents, in this instance killing dozens and injuring hundreds.  The U.S./Great Britain/France's targeted response was appropriately focused on this inhumane attack and violation of international law. Yet in several comments over the past week, the President has sounded as if he wants to greatly expand America’s military involvement in Syria. If that is true, then he needs a clear plan and strategy and must come to Congress to seek an Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF).  I continue to call for an AUMF debate.”
