Washington, DC – Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the following statement regarding the Trump administration designating Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism:

“In the waning days of Trump’s presidency, his administration has once again politicized a national security decision. By designating Cuba a state sponsor of terrorism without consulting Congress, the administration is hindering future efforts to pursue a Cuba policy that furthers our national interests and improves the lives of the citizens of both countries.”
