A dedication plaque was unveiled at the end of the ceremony.

Attendees were also invited to tour the airport before it opens for business.

The new passenger terminal officially opens on Monday, with its first flight at 6 a-m.

"This airport, our airport, relies on the care we show it today and the years to come. It is a crucial artery of the life and progress of the entire region," said Minn. Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon.

The old terminal will close after its last flight comes in on Sunday night around 10:30.

There will also be another open house Saturday from 12 pm to 4 pm.
