WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar released the following statement following the Senate passage of the first six of twelve funding bills. The package now goes to the President’s desk to be signed into law.

“Today, the Senate took a bipartisan step forward to avoid a partial government shutdown and ensure veterans, law enforcement, farmers, small business owners, and families get the support they need. In these six funding bills, I secured a significant number of projects across Minnesota that invest in our state’s infrastructure, veterans services, child care, public safety, and more. As we work to pass the remaining funding bills in the coming weeks, I will continue reaching across the aisle to avoid a shutdown and keep our economy on the right track.”

This package includes the following funding bills: Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.
