WASHINGTON – Following the Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) announced that her office is offering assistance to American citizens and Afghan allies looking to evacuate.

“Our immediate priority in Afghanistan must be ensuring we are doing everything possible to evacuate American citizens and help our Afghan allies. If you or a loved one in Afghanistan is in need of assistance, please contact my office by emailing assistance@klobuchar.senate.gov,” said Klobuchar.

Earlier this week, Klobuchar joined 45 of her Senate colleagues in urging the Biden administration to take swift action to protect and support Afghan women leaders facing danger following the Taliban’s sweep across Afghanistan and seizure of Kabul. In a bipartisan letter, the senators expressed strong support for evacuation efforts.
