WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the statement below on the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

“50 years ago today, Roe v. Wade enshrined a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions. Every day without these protections is another day that women are at the mercy of a patchwork of state laws that too often keep them from getting the care they need. We need to ensure that women – not politicians – are once again at the helm of these most personal choices. It’s past time to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into federal law. We’re not backing down or giving up, and we won’t settle for a reality where our daughters have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers."
